Listening to and Propagating the True Buddha Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Brought Happiness, Wisdom, and Blessings to My Family

I was born in a rural area of Henan Province, China, near the birthplace of the great Master Xuanzang. As a child, I was deeply moved by the solemn Buddha statues, serene temples, and the chanting of sutras I saw on television. They filled me with a profound sense of reverence, purity, and peace.

After I began working, I frequently participated in temple activities, including studying Buddhism, reciting sutras, and attending Dharma assemblies. Over time, however, I noticed that many fellow practitioners were still struggling with suffering and afflictions. While they felt peaceful when they were in the temple, once they returned home they continued to face family conflicts, emotional distress, and various difficulties.

An elderly practitioner once told me, “Learning Buddhism can help beings emerge from suffering and ultimately attain liberation.” Yet I often wondered why so many practitioners, despite diligently reciting sutras and engaging in daily practices, remained trapped in sorrow and worry year after year. During study sessions, I frequently heard people tearfully recount their troubles—family discord, difficult children, and endless hardships.

I often asked myself:

“If Buddhism can increase wisdom and blessings and free people from suffering, why do so many practitioners remain burdened by afflictions? Have we truly learned the authentic Buddha Dharma? Have we understood its true meaning? If we had, why would things still be this way?”

Thinking of Master Xuanzang’s determination to journey westward in search of authentic teachings because different masters held conflicting views, I found myself filled with similar questions. Looking up at the sky, I silently made a vow:

“I will cultivate sincerely, treat all beings with kindness, and if I practice well, I believe I will one day encounter a true enlightened master who can guide me.”

With deep reverence, I prayed to Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva for the causes and conditions to mature.

By the compassionate blessings of Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, something happened that I never could have imagined. In my remote rural village, I met several Dharma sisters and was introduced to the supreme Dharma teachings of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. I was especially amazed when I witnessed the holy phenomenon of nectar descending during a Dharma assembly.

The greatness of Buddha Dharma deeply moved me. For the first time, I witnessed tangible manifestations of authentic Buddha Dharma. It was real and beyond words.

In 2011, I attended the Third Recognition Ceremony for Acaryas and Dharma-Listening Masters Who Distinguished Themselves in Dharma Propagation and Service to Sentient Beings. During that period, I also resolved to follow and study the Tathagata’s True Dharma taught by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III—the authentic Buddha Dharma of Namo Shakyamuni Buddha—and respectfully requested the precious Dharma discourses of the Buddha Master.

After returning from Hong Kong, however, life became extremely difficult. My business failed and I became unemployed. My wife was pregnant, our savings gradually disappeared, and we could no longer afford the rent for our apartment in the county town. We moved into a small unfinished house in the countryside.

There, I respectfully enshrined the Buddha images and Dharma recordings.

As I looked at the dilapidated environment around me and thought of the greatness of the Tathagata’s True Dharma, as well as the dignified and magnificent Dharma centers where others listened to the teachings, I then looked at my own crude, unfinished house that resembled a poor shack. At that moment, I could no longer hold back my emotions. I dropped to my knees and wept uncontrollably, feeling that I had failed so badly and was completely unworthy. I felt ashamed and deeply remorseful, believing that my karma had caused the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to be enshrined in such humble conditions.

I repeatedly prostrated and sincerely repented before the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

As I slowly raised my head and gazed at “Dorje Chang Buddha Lineage Refuge Tree”, the compassionate smile of the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III seemed to comfort me:

“Though this place is small and simple, it is a place where authentic Buddha Dharma can be heard. True Buddha Dharma benefits all sentient beings throughout the entire Dharma Realm.”

These thoughts moved me even more deeply, and I once again prostrated before the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with the utmost sincerity.

Later, I continued attending Dharma listening sessions, group cultivation activities, and Dharma propagation programs in other cities despite severe financial hardship. At times, I had less than five yuan in my pocket. I even borrowed money to buy standing-room train tickets and spent entire nights standing on trains to attend study sessions in Shanghai.

The care and kindness shown by fellow practitioners deeply touched me. Late at night, they would wait for me at subway stations holding warm clothes and hot steamed buns, showing concern for my well-being.

Wanting to repay their kindness, I expressed my gratitude, but they humbly replied:

“This is what the great Buddha Master H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III taught us. We are all one family and do not need repayment. What you should do is pass on the Buddha’s compassion and great love to others through benefiting living beings. We should be thanking you for giving us an opportunity to practice Buddhism.”

Their actions transformed me. I saw true Dharma practice manifested through conduct. Their example inspired me and revealed the gap between merely making vows and genuinely putting them into practice.

I am profoundly grateful to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and to all my Dharma brothers and sisters.

No matter how difficult life became, I continued studying the Tathagata’s True Dharma. I even borrowed money to attend Dharma assemblies in Hong Kong. To save expenses, I brought over twenty steamed buns with me. Because of the hot and humid climate, they became moldy within two days. Yet when I reflected upon the profound benefits of attending the Dharma assembly and receiving blessings within the sacred mandala, I felt these hardships were insignificant.

I knew that I had planted the causes for liberation accumulated over countless lifetimes. Such small tests were nothing in comparison.

After returning from Hong Kong, I continued introducing newcomers to Buddhism and gradually established several Buddhist study centers. The saying “the Buddha never lets sincere efforts go unrewarded” proved true. Studying the Tathagata’s True Dharma increases blessings and wisdom while benefiting oneself and others. Especially when one’s body, speech, and mind become aligned with the Dharma, the increase in blessings can be remarkably evident.

How could the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas allow a truly sincere disciple to remain impoverished forever?

In September 2012, I moved alone to the provincial capital. The following month, I established a company in Zhengzhou and set up a Buddhist shrine within the office. I continued introducing people to the Dharma recordings of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

With the blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the company grew rapidly. Within a year, we moved into a two-story office. Business flourished, and eventually I was able to purchase a home and an SUV in Zhengzhou. Within only three years, our company secured projects with many nationally recognized enterprises and real-estate developments.

Many people assumed we had powerful connections or influential networks. But I was simply an ordinary person from a rural village who had not even completed high school. Where could such connections have come from?

To me, this was a living demonstration of the blessings of the Tathagata’s True Dharma.

Before encountering authentic Buddha Dharma, my parents opposed my Buddhist practice. After I found the True Dharma, they became supportive. My wife, who had once opposed my practice, eventually became a devoted Dharma sister herself. She now diligently participates in Dharma listening sessions, group cultivation, and helping newcomers.

Following the example of the Dharma sisters who had guided us, we also prepared dormitories and dining facilities in our Buddhist center to provide a comfortable environment for visitors from other regions to study and listen to the Dharma. We hope they too can experience the happiness and fulfillment that we have found.

Because modern society is filled with countless temptations, diligent cultivation is essential. In addition to attending group cultivation several times each week, we joined the online study program. We make good use of our spare time every day to engage in regular practices.

Even our kindergarten-aged child brings friends into the Buddhist center to pay respects to the Buddhas and learn the Dharma.

Practicing the True Dharma taught by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has transformed our entire family. It has brought harmony, prosperity, happiness, and auspiciousness into our lives. Often, we spend so much time leading group cultivation and helping newcomers that we have little time left to manage our business. Yet business opportunities seem to come on their own. Even in an economic climate where collecting payments is difficult, most clients voluntarily pay on time, and some even pay in advance.

Everything proceeds so smoothly that it is difficult to describe.

All of these are genuine experiences from my own life.

Through studying the Tathagata’s True Dharma as taught by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, I have personally experienced the greatness of Buddha Dharma and the inconceivable blessings of increased wisdom and merit.

From the bottom of my heart, I pray that more people with karmic affinity may soon have the opportunity to hear the supreme Dharma teachings of Namo H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, refrain from all evil, practice all good deeds, and embark upon the path toward prosperity, wisdom, and ultimate liberation.

Namo H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!

Humbly written by a repentant Buddhist disciple,
Cifei
