My Experience Listening to the Dharma Discourses of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III
I feel deeply fortunate to have the opportunity to respectfully listen to the recorded Dharma discourses of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, who is revered as the Pope of Buddhism.
The Dharma discourses I have listened to include What is Cultivation?, Impermanence, and many others. Each time I listen, I feel as if I have been fully recharged—like a computer receiving fresh energy. These teachings awaken me from the complexity and confusion of worldly life, reminding me to cultivate myself, transcend samsara, and benefit others.
Profound Transformation Through Dharma Teachings
Among all the teachings, the discourse titled “A Deviated Mind Attached to Phenomena is Mara; Differentiation under Any Circumstances Diverges from the State of Meditation” has especially benefited me.
Through listening to this Dharma discourse, I began to understand how to:
- Let go of attachment to the self
- Avoid being influenced by external circumstances
- Maintain clarity and correct thinking
However, due to my habitual tendencies as an ordinary person, I still find myself attached to various matters. Only after reflecting on my mistakes do I realize the importance of correcting my mindset, cultivating diligently, and letting go of self-attachment.
This process has been ongoing—I make mistakes, reflect, and continue improving.
Applying Dharma in Real Life
During a particular karmic circumstance, misunderstandings arose between me and several friends due to differing opinions while working together. One person even criticized and attacked me.
In the past, before learning Buddhism, I would have reacted angrily and argued back, likely escalating the situation into serious conflict. However, this time, I remained calm.
I reminded myself:
“If I become attached, afflictions will arise. I should let it go.”
I chose not to argue or defend myself. Instead, I trusted that the situation would resolve naturally. Eventually, due to changing conditions, the misunderstanding was indeed resolved.
Looking back, I clearly see that this calmness and wisdom came from the benefits of listening to the Dharma. It allowed me to maintain right thinking and act according to the teachings even in difficult situations.
Gratitude and Reflection
Through this experience, I have gained a deeper appreciation of the true Dharma.
I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to encounter the authentic teachings of the Tathagata from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.
I also offer my deepest gratitude to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions.
